I am trying to record from my HX stomp into reaper without much luck. June 2020 edited June 2020 in FX. Solved - HX Stomp and Reaper - driver issues.

Very interested to hear about how other folks are using it.Didn't know this existed until today, which is funny as I recall insisting about something exactly like this when Virgo was released and told that it wouldn't happen. I can tell you that I'm not going back to IR cabinets ever again after using this. Please report back here once you get to spend some time with this. I was curious because I wonder how much running the signal through multiple tube power amps might affect the sound. One of my amps has a line out, but in the past I never liked the tone I got from it compared to running from the speaker out, so it didn't occur to me to try this with PowerCabs. Two stages of power amp hasn't been a problem for me (or DiBiQuadro it seems) and I can only assume that it is because the power amp circuit that was sampled was maybe not driven? Then again, maybe that is why I find I need to run Balancer? Who knows? I am trying not to worry too much about what is 'supposed to be done' and just worrying about what I hear. A lot of the amps that I have access to don't have line outs. But, I haven't used it, yet.
None of them didn't really wow me tone wise even though they feel satisfying to play (most were very bright). I understand that poweramps used come from amp heads and they may not have this tweakability but for the sake of a product like this a standalone poweramp with depth and presence controls might have been better.2 - If not adding actual poweramp controls, I find the amount of total captures insufficient. Ok, so here's the feedback from a direct target:1 - I believe that the winning format for a product such as this would start from having additional controls in the poweramp section. I feel I have to support one of the few companies that push the boundaries instead of releasing more IRs as everybody else.
Even the non-ZL version works fine. I know all this stuff takes time, but it also results in a more solid product.3 - Being able to use Nebula tech without latency is great. Considering the main suspects for the target audience are missing (Mesa 412 cab, 5150 poweramp, etc), I would have included every combination with the gear you guys had available (for example why no 6L6 poweramp with 1960B cab?, etc).
